Pennine Domestic Violence Group (PDVG) delivers nationally accredited, quality marked domestic abuse services across Kirklees. We work within a coordinated partnership response to victims of domestic abuse as part of the local area multi agency strategy to tackling domestic abuse.
PDVG Live Safe Hub delivers a high quality, community based, multi-agency response for people affected by domestic abuse to reduce the risk of potential and actual harm to adults and children.
PDVG is looking to recruit within the Live Safe Hub
1x Full Time Independent Domestic Violence Advisor IDVA
1x Full Time Police Independent Domestic Violence Advisor IDVA – 12-month fixed term (to cover secondment)
SALARY: £22,000 – 23,000 per annum Pro -rata
Employers Pension Contribution 6%
Essential Car User Allowance £800 per annum
Domestic abuse affects entire families and we welcome applications from women and men and actively seek applications that reflect the diversity of Kirklees.
The Live Safe Hub IDVA service work with female and male victims of domestic abuse aged 16+ living across Kirklees through a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support framework.
The Live Safe IDVA will also work with key agencies to improve awareness of domestic abuse and its impact. Part of the role will be to establish and maintain positive, proactive and innovative working relationships, pathways and referral routes with partner agencies across Kirklees.
The IDVA will have excellent understanding of domestic abuse and the effects on victims, families and communities, also having excellent understanding of best practice within the domestic abuse and related sector, working with individuals who have complex and multiple needs. The post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning also handling sensitive information on a daily basis.
Experience of direct work with male and female victims of domestic abuse, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.
A SafeLives IDVA or an accredited DAPA (Domestic Abuse Prevention Advocate) qualification is desirable, but not essential.
The nature of the role requires regular travel across Kirklees. The post holder is required to hold a driving license and access to a vehicle.
